WordPress: How to Create a Page or Blog Post

Creating new pages and posts is a fundamental part of building your WordPress website. This guide will show you two different methods for creating both pages and posts directly from your WordPress dashboard.

Follow these steps to add a new page to your WordPress site.

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. You can create a new page using either of the two methods below:

    Method 1: From the Top Admin Bar
    In the top bar, hover over the + New option and select Page from the dropdown menu.

    Method 2: From the Sidebar Menu
    In the left-hand menu, click on Pages, then click Add New Page.

You will be taken to the page editor where you can start adding content to your new page.

Note:
  • The appearance of your page editor may vary depending on the plugins you have installed, such as a third-party page builder.
  • If you have a page builder plugin installed, you can also choose the plugin to create a page (e.g., SiteOrigin).

How to Create a New Post

Follow these steps to add a new blog post to your WordPress site.

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. You can create a new post using either of the two methods below:

    Method 1: From the Top Admin Bar
    In the top bar, hover over the + New option and select Post from the dropdown menu.

    In the left-hand menu, click on Posts, then click Add New Post.

You will be taken to the post editor where you can start writing and adding content to your new blog post.
