WordPress - How to Delete a Page

Managing your WordPress website's content is essential, and that includes knowing how to properly remove old or unwanted pages. In WordPress, Pages are distinct from Posts, but the process to delete a WordPress page is very simple.

This guide has been organized into collapsible sections to provide you with step-by-step instructions for removing pages (both moving pages to trash and deleting pages permanently) using your WordPress Dashboard.


How to Access the WordPress Dashboard

This section provides instructions for:


Logging in via the Account Manager

  1. Log in to your Network Solutions® Account Manager via https://www.networksolutions.com/my-account/login.
  2. Click WordPress on the left-side menu.

  3. Depending on the number of WordPress packages in your account, the interface may look slightly different.
    • If you only have one WordPress package, you will be taken directly to the WordPress Control Panel page.

    • If you have multiple WordPress packages, click the Manage button on the package you need to modify.
  4. Under the Launch WordPress Dashboard panel, click the Go button.

  5. In the WordPress Login page that appears, please do the following:
    • Please enter your WP Admin Login Credentials (username or email address and password).
    • Lastly, click the Log In button.

You'll be redirected to your WordPress Admin Dashboard in a new tab.

 

Logging in via the Login URL (/wp-admin)

This method allows you to directly access your WordPress dashboard using your domain name.

  1. Launch your preferred internet browser.
  2. On the internet browser's address bar, you can use and enter the following URL structure: yourdomainname.extension/wp-admin (siteURL/wp-admin).

    Note:

    • If you installed WordPress on a subdomain (e.g., blog.yourdomainname.extension), your login URL will be "www.blog.yourdomainname.extension/wp-admin."
    • If your WordPress installation is in a subdirectory (e.g., yourdomainname.com/myblog), your login URL will be "www.yourdomainname.extension/myblog/wp-admin."
  3. In the WordPress Login page that appears, please do the following:
    • Please enter your WP Admin Login Credentials (username or email address and password).
    • Lastly, click the Log In button.

You'll be redirected to your WordPress Admin Dashboard in a new tab.

How to Delete a WordPress Page

Once you have accessed the WordPress Dashboard page, please follow these steps when you need to delete a WordPress page.

  1. In the left-hand navigation menu, go to Pages, then click All Pages. This will list all the pages you have, whether published or drafts.
  2. Please follow either of the steps below:
     
    • You can type in the page name you would like to remove in the Search Pages text field at the top right-hand corner.

    OR

    • You can scroll through the list one by one.
  3. Hover over the page you would like to remove from your WordPress and click the Trash link. This will move the page to the trash but not permanently delete it.

  4. At the top of the page list, click on the Trash link to view all items in the trash.
  5. Hover over the page you want to remove completely, and click Delete Permanently. This will fully delete a WordPress page from your website, and it cannot be undone.
