WordPress Tutorial: How to Enable or Disable Post Comments

How to Enable or Disable Comments on All New Articles

Important: This setting only applies to comments going forward. It does not delete or remove existing comments on any WordPress pages.

Log in to your WordPress Dashboard first. Once done, please follow the steps below to enable or disable comments on WordPress articles:

  1. Navigate to Settings on your WordPress dashboard, then click Discussion from the options below.

  2. In the Discussion Settings page, under Default article settings, check to enable or uncheck to disable Allow people to post comments on new articles.

How to Enable or Disable Comments on a Page

Important: This setting only affects comments made after the change. It won’t remove or delete any existing comments on your WordPress pages.

Log in to your WordPress Dashboard first. Once done, please follow the steps below to enable or disable comments on WordPress pages:

  1. Navigate to Pages on your WordPress dashboard, then select All Pages.

  2. Hover your mouse over the title page to display the options below, then click Edit for the page you want to modify.

Note: Quick Edit also has an option to disable comments.
