How to Turn Domain Privacy on or Off

Are you concerned about your privacy online? This guide will show you how to turn Domain Privacy on or off to keep your personal information private in the WHOIS database.

Domain privacy is a value-added service for your domain. Adding the privacy service to your domain names can prevent your personal information from being displayed on the public WHOIS database. Your details will be replaced with an alternate contact to protect your personal information.

Important: This article is for customers who sign in using support.web.com. If you sign in using https://www.networksolutions.com/my-account/login, visit the instructions on managing your domain contacts and WHOIS information for help.

Turn Domain Privacy On or Off

To enable or disable Domain Privacy, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your Account Manager via support.web.com.
  2. Click the Domains tile. Notice that when you hover over the tile, the instructional text appears:

    Manage Domains

  3. In the Privacy column, turn the toggle switch On or Off.

    Note: If there is no Privacy option, you must first purchase the service for your domain.

You have turned on/off the Privacy service for your domain.
