Cloud Mail DNS Settings

Importance of Cloud Mail DNS Settings

Important: This article applies to customers with Cloud Mail only. If you do not have Cloud Mail, visit What Are My Email DNS Settings? to get your email DNS settings. To determine your email version, see How Do I Determine My Email Platform.

If another provider hosts your domain and you are using Network Solutions's Cloud Email, you need to configure your domain's DNS to start receiving emails. DNS records like MX, CNAME, SPF, and SRV are essential for guiding mail servers in precisely and securely delivering messages.

Properly configuring DNS records is important to ensure secure and dependable email delivery, as incorrect configuration can negatively impact deliverability. When sending emails, the recipient's mail server might check to verify that you are a legitimate sender and that the email is not spam.

How to Set Up Cloud Mail DNS Settings

To configure your domain's DNS, please follow the path outlined below:

Important: The most critical DNS entries are the MX records. That is what enables your email to be delivered to you. All CNAME, SPF, and SRV records are optional. If configuring mail clients, point to "*.hostingplatform.com" values directly.
  1. Log in to the control panel for your domain DNS host.
    • If you do not know where your domain is hosted, go to https://who.is/.
      Note:
      • If you are hosted with us, please see "How Do I Manage DNS and Advanced DNS Records?" for instructions on where you can set up your DNS records.
      • If another provider hosts your domain, please refer to your hosting provider's Help Center or contact them for instructions on how to add or update your DNS records.
  2. Set the DNS entries to the values below. To prevent email delivery complications, make sure that no other MX record entries exist.
