What Are My Email DNS Settings?
Email DNS records help guide your email to the correct location while following any additional rules you have in place for your email.
- MX (Mail Exchange) records are used to create a mail route for a domain name.
- CNAME (Canonical Name) records can create an alias for the domain and allow traffic for the domain name to be redirected elsewhere.
- TXT (Text) Records have several functions. One common function is to use the TXT record to create a Sender Policy Framework or SPF. SPF Records help stop email spammers from forging the From fields in an email.

In the actual configuration settings of your email DNS, you actually make sure that your emails route and get secured appropriately. With the MX, CNAME, and TXT records, you can set up a reliable route for your mail, establish your domain aliases, and even obtain SPF that keeps spammers from playing with your system against email spoofing. In whichever option you choose between Google Workspace or Business Email, such DNS settings will provide you with management over your email.
