Managing Cloud Mail Notifications

What Notifications Will I Receive?
You can configure your email to receive notifications about specific events. You will receive notifications for the following events:
- New emails
- Appointment invitations
- Appointment reminders
- Due tasks
- Tasks with a past due date
How to Automatically Open the Notification Area
Hovering over the Notifications icon will show the number of new notifications as soon as one is received. Click the symbol to access the notification area.
If you want the notification area to open automatically when new notifications arrive, follow these steps:
- Once logged into Cloud Mail, click on the Settings icon in the upper-right corner of the page. Then, select All settings.
- On the left pane, select Notifications.
- On the Notifications page, click the Notifications area tab.
Important: The Desktop notifications tab will automatically open after clicking Notifications. You will need to click on the Desktop notifications tab to minimize it and show more settings. - Tick the Automatically open the notification area when there are new reminders checkboxes.
You have enabled the setting to open your notification area automatically.
How to Enable Desktop Notifications
Desktop notifications allow you to quickly screen incoming emails while performing other tasks on your device. To enable desktop notifications, follow the steps below.
- Once logged into Cloud Mail, click on the Settings icon in the upper-right corner of the page. Then, select All settings.
- On the left pane, select Notifications.
- By default, the Desktop notifications tab is already open when clicking Notifications.
- Tick the Show desktop notifications checkbox.
How to Use the Notification Area
As soon as you receive a notification, hovering over the Notifications icon will display the number of new items. You must click that icon to open the notification area.
You can do the following in the notification area:
Reminders
- To display the details of a reminder, click on the title.
- To receive a reminder again, click on the horizontal ellipsis next to the reminder, then select a time, day, or week you want to be reminded again.
- To remove a reminder, click the x icon next to the reminder.

Appointments
- To display the details of an appointment, click on the title.
- To show appointment invitation suggestions in your calendar, click on Open in calendar.
- Click Accept or Decline to accept or decline an invitation.

Tasks
- To display the details of a task, click on the title.
- To mark overdue tasks as done, click Done.

If you want to close the notification area, click the Notifications icon .
How to Customize Notifications
Follow the steps below to customize your notifications within your mail settings.
- Once logged into Cloud Mail, click on the Settings icon in the upper-right corner of the page. Then, select All settings.
- In the left pane, select Notifications.
Desktop Notifications

Notification Area
- Automatically open the notification area for new reminders – If you enable this option, the notification area will open automatically each time you get an appointment or task reminder.
- Show birthdays in notification area – To add future birthdays to the notice area, enable this option.
- Show reminders for past appointments – Enable this if you have past appointments that you still want to be notified.
Calendar
- Countdown
- Show countdown - To display a countdown for all incoming appointments, enable this option.
- Show countdown only for appointments with multiple participants or a link to join online meetings
- Start countdown – Decide when you want the countdown to begin.
