How is buying an aftermarket domain different from registering a new one?
An aftermarket domain is already registered by someone else, so you're buying it from the current holder rather than claiming an unregistered name. Price is set by the market instead of the registry. Premium pricing reflects the number of characters, how long the domain has been registered, how relevant and popular the keyword is, and the traffic it generates.
Why can't I register this domain right away?
Unlike standard domain registrations, some domains are already owned or are being sold through an auction or marketplace. They may not be available for immediate registration.
What's the difference between 'Purchase' and 'Place a bid'?
Purchase — These are names available for instant purchase with no bidding; payment is immediate and all sales are final and non-refundable. No bidding or negotiation is required. In most cases, fulfillment takes less than 10 days.
Place a bid — You enter a live auction instead of buying outright. Bids are binding and can't be retracted — if you win, you're committed to buy. If you're outbid, you owe nothing. This process typically takes longer; we keep you posted every step of the way.
Am I guaranteed to get the domain if I place a backorder?
No. Multiple people may be interested in the same domain, and availability depends on factors outside our control. You will get the domain only if it can be secured and you win the auction.
What protects me if the seller doesn't hand over the domain?
You are not charged until the domain is successfully acquired. If it cannot be secured, you pay nothing.
Am I responsible for checking trademarks and the domain's history?
Yes. Always research a name before committing. Check that it isn't a typo, and that it uses letters where you expect letters rather than numbers. There are no refunds after an auction closes if you win a name spelled differently than you thought, or if you later discover a trademark attached to it — so investigate whether a domain infringes anyone's rights before you place a backorder.
When will I know if I got the domain?
The time varies depending on the domain and its status. Some opportunities are resolved quickly, while others may take several days or longer. No matter the result — we will keep you updated of the status every step of the way.
What happens if I win an auction?
Once payment is completed, we'll begin transferring the domain into your account. We'll notify you when the process is complete and the domain is ready to use. Please note that aftermarket transactions may require additional processing before the domain can be added to your account.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind about purchasing a domain name?
No. Once the domain is acquired and in your account, the sale is final and cannot be cancelled or refunded. Please be sure before you buy or bid.
