Network Solutions® is working with the ICM Registry to provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions about this new domain extension designed specifically for the Global Adult Entertainment Industry (the "Sponsored Community"). There are several launch phases planned for the new Adult Industry Domain Extension. Please read carefully to determine which phase pertains to your business to protect your brand.

.XXX Phases Available:

Sunrise — Trademark Holders and Pre-Existing Exact-Match Domain

Sunrise opens September 10, 2011 and closes October 28, 2011 at 12:00pm ET

Sunrise AT — Adult Trademark Holders: Dedicated to members of the Sponsored Community with either a valid trademark or service mark, prior to September 1, 2011 who want to use the .XXX domain name and host a live website. Applicants will have to provide trademark information, any supporting declaration forms and become a member of the Sponsored Community before the application process is completed and the domain name is awarded. Applicants must complete the Membership Application Process and the Assignee Supporting Declaration Forms (if applicable) within 5 days of the close of Sunrise. Multiple applications for competing domain names will go to auction at the end of Sunrise. Applicants will be notified by Pool, via email from '[email protected]', to participate in the auction process. Pool is the company responsible for handling the auction process.

Sunrise AD — Adult Domain Holders (Grandfathering): Dedicated to members of the Sponsored Community with a pre-existing exact-match domain in another Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) TLD prior to February 1, 2010 who wants to use the .XXX domain name and host a live website. Applicants must complete the Membership Application Process and the Pre-Existing Exact Match Domain Validation Process within 5 days of the close of Sunrise. Multiple applications for competing domain names will go to auction at the end of Sunrise. Applicants will be notified by Pool via email from '[email protected]' to participate in the auction process. Pool is the company responsible for handling the auction process.

Sunrise B — Block for Trademark Holders: Created especially for non-adult Intellectual Property holders who are non-members of the Sponsored Community with either a valid trademark or service mark prior to September 1, 2011 who do NOT want to host a live website using the .XXX extension. Applicants will have to provide trademark information and any supporting Assignee Supporting Declaration Forms (if applicable) before the application process is completed. All declaration forms will need to be completed and submitted within 5 days of the close of Sunrise. This phase is informally referred to as "Block" to give the rights owners the opportunity to block misuse of the trademark name and ensure others do not register the trademark name and host a live website on a .XXX domain name. These .XXX domain names will be reserved and/or blocked from live use. The domain name applied for will resolve to a standard page indicating that the domain is reserved from use through ICM's Rights Protection Program. The WHOIS information will reflect the ICM Registry information and not the applicants personal information. It is important to know that members of the Adult Entertainment Industry, who do not support the .XXX extension or wish to never register a .XXX domain name(s), will be able to use Sunrise B to apply to block their trademarks.

Landrush — Advanced Premium Pricing

Landrush opens November 8, 2011 at 11:00am ET and closes November 25, 2011 at 11:00am ET

Landrush is for members of the Sponsored Community who want to use the .XXX domain name and host a live website but do NOT want to wait until General Availability opens. This phase is NOT on a first come, first served basis, so multiple applications for the same .XXX domain name will go to auction at the end of Landrush. Applicants will be notified by Pool via email from '[email protected]' to participate in the auction process. Unlike Sunrise AT, AD and B, there are no qualification requirements needed for Landrush, but applicants must complete the Membership Application Process within 5 days of the close of Landrush.

General Availability — Domains are First Come, First Served

General Availability opens December 6, 2011 at 11:00am ET

General Availability is available to everyone on a first come, first served basis, so you'll need to move fast to get your name and domain name(s) on the list. There are no requirements around trademarks or pre-existing domain name(s) in this phase. General Availability is for both non-members and members of the Sponsored Community.

Non-members of the Sponsored Community: Available for non-adult industry brands who do NOT want to host a live website using the .XXX extension. The intention is for the applicant to protect their intellectual property for personal domain names, company domain names, product domain names, etc. that didn't have prior qualifying rights under Sunrise B.

Members of the Sponsored Community: Available for members who intend to host a live website using the .XXX extension. Applicants must complete the Membership Application Process before the .XXX domain name can host a live website.

As the domain name system has dramatically expanded, it has become increasingly difficult to identify what individual websites offer without actually visiting them. .XXXTRA POTENTIAL

.XXX is already synonymous with adult entertainment, so domain names ending .XXX are immediately adult relevant.

.XXXTRA COVERAGE

Several Ultra-premium generic .XXX sites will not be sold; instead they will be used as directory sites to promote developed .XXX sites.

.XXXTRA DEMAND

With over 500,000 applications for .XXX domains, we've already proven the wealth of opportunity for .XXX.

.XXXTRA CAREFUL

.XXX sites will be promoted as safe and trustworthy: they will be labeled and verified.

.XXXTRA BRAND PROFESSIONAL

$10 from each domain per year will be donated to the International Foundation for Online Responsibility (IFFOR) by the ICM Registry.
