A:  Like all accredited domain name Registrars, Network Solutions is required by ICANN (a government-sanctioned authority overseeing aspects of the domain name registration industry, with strong support by the U.S. Department of Commerce) to keep certain information that domain name customers provide to us in the WHOIS database available on the Web and in bulk format. Licensors of the bulk WHOIS data are prohibited from using the data to send unsolicited e-mails (i.e., spam).
